Camp Heart Connection's Oncology Camp: June 10-16, 2012
Children's Cancer Connection operates a week long summer camp program for children that have, or have had cancer. Each summer an average of 135 children from around the state of Iowa, as well as western Illinois, southern Minnesota, southeastern South Dakota, and eastern Nebraska attend camp. It is a week of typical camp activities such as swimming, arts and crafts, and field games. The only difference is that all of these children have experienced a life threatening disease.

Camper Health Form - Please print the Camper Heath Form, have your child's doctor fill it out, and have it returned to Children's Cancer Connection. You will also need to obtain a copy of your current immunization records.
Camp Heart Connection's Sibling Camp: August 12-18, 2012
Children's Cancer Connection was one of the first organizations to recognize that brothers and sisters of children with cancer have their own special needs. Each summer nearly 160 siblings attend their own special week of camp. While they enjoy the camp activities they share their experiences, their fears, worry, anger, and guilt. Sibling camp is a week that provides the children the limelight that they often miss during their siblings’ treatment. Camp for them is also a place where they find support after the loss of a sibling.

Camp Heart Connection Volunteer Staff:
Each year Children's Cancer Connection's Camp Heart Connection relies on over 150 individual week-long volunteers to provide an excellent camp program for campers touched by childhood cancer. We are currently looking for camp staff to serve in all positions. If you would like to make the difference in the lives of our campers this summer, please consider applying today! Week-long staff must be a minimum of 16 years old and able to commit to the entire week.
TO APPLY as a Camp Heart Connection Volunteer Staff Member:
In order to apply to volunteer at either the Oncology Camp or Sibling Camp (as a new or returning staff member) you must complete the Volunteer Staff Application. NEW STAFF applicants will also need to provide 2 references. Please print 2 copies of the New Staff Reference Form (which can be found below) and have them returned to Children's Cancer Connection NO LATER than March 2 for your application to be considered. Note: ALL applicants will need to upload a copy of their insurance card. Click on the following link to apply electronically to our secure site.
