Support Services and Outings
Club HOPE
Club HOPE (Helping Other Parents Endure) is a group that was created by parents. Club HOPE is a place for parents or other adults who have ever cared for a child with cancer, regardless of that child’s current age, years off treatment, or treatment outcome. Parents can come to Club HOPE to meet new people who understand what life’s like for a family touched by cancer, share resources, learn, and have fun. Children’s activities are always provided, and it’s a great way for cancer survivors and siblings to meet new people! Club HOPE Central meets on the second Tuesday of the month in Des Moines.
Each year local businesses, groups, and individuals help make the holidays brighter for Children's Cancer Connection families who are having financial challenges by gathering holiday gifts. Cancer can put a strain on family resources including money and time, but it is still important for families to celebrate traditions to have a sense of normalcy and to provide them something to look forward to. Through the generous donations of others, we are able to help families enjoy a happy holiday in the midst of all the chaos cancer brings.
Family Outings
Family Outings: Throughout the year Children's Cancer Connection hosts outings and recreation opportunities for families affected by childhood cancer. Below are the current opportunities for families.
